The real applied goodness

November 16, 2009

Aiyo just realised some ppl search weird stuffs on google to get to my blog -.-

Anyway, went to NUS today with tianle for the Math and Financial Crisis talk thing that has constantly been flashing over the TV in school just cause We Can and that we don’t have chem tomorrow 🙂 (But aiyah, go take the last laugh every one else, 4 papers this weeks is no kidding)

Proof of epicness… 1) Were one of the few non uni kids there, along with random NUS high kids, and probably the ONLY RJ PPL THERE MUHAHAH 2) I AM DAMN SURE we’re the only ppl who went there in the midst of As whoohoo! Aiya but was worth it on otherwise time spent on slacking after dinner and probably doing a little more for applied-common-sense.

Cheers to math anyway, further PROOF today that math dominates all academically rigourous studies (and no, i don’t mean applied common sense or applied intution (HUMAN geog) or applied rhetoric (i.e. LIT). Aiyah mind the bigotry, I take 2 of the above 3 APPLIED NONSENSE yea; am eating my own poison) and I guess we should just screw all BBAs and MBAs and B.A. Econs and whatever for APPLIED MATH MATH MATH (and FISIKS of course)!

Still, going to NUS today just reminded us why we don’t want to stay in this cauldron for 4 more years (actually cause too much competition from epic chinese ppl, even in today’s lecture) :/ Gosh and the ETHZ prof dude was totally one awesome (m)academia nut living in one awesome country… Sigh, more great reasons to master Deutsch after As and go to the land of the SWISS!

Thinking about it

November 14, 2009

There is often, I feel, very few reasons to be thinking above and beyond the present..OR perhaps even thinking above your innate simpleness uh. Been reading through certain controversial ppl’s blogs (bearing in mind of course being controversial itself is alr an accomplishment so don’t even try to guess if it’s you x)) and realising contrived sophistication is the lowest common denominator… That and some form of blatant pretense (argh nearly an oxymoron but who cares)

Ohwells bigotry aside, A WEEK IN REVIEW: generally going okay I guess. All papers have been beyond expectations though rather manageable so yep, FOUR MORE TO GO before the bulk of the war is over.

Anyway, personal take aways from something a tad a while ago that tianle and i finally realised made more sense that actually intended. Hence, the interpretation of our uh…class motto?

THE 4 MOTTOS TO LIFE

1. Make love, not war

Speaks for itself la.. Making love (not sex) work takes time and effort, and we’re not just talking about romantic love so yep, a general motto to follow (cause war is veh costly too).

2. Do not discriminate others (especially black women)

Meant initially as a reference to alaricious’ obsession over black women and bunifa jackson, this tells us to be less of bigots (the above paragraph being NOT a good example :/) and respect others for who they are even if they are uh..weird. Aiyah standard fare la uh..

3. Keep your underwear on at all times

Probably the most senseless of them all initially..IT ACTUALLY MAKES THE MOST SENSE LEH. Cause well, I guess everyone wants to do stupid stuff at times and uh often forgetting that it’d be QUITE STUPID uh. Screwing (no pun intended) your life and someone else’s life up is no joke ah. Hence yea, keep it on at all times (and not get drunked or doped) and life would be moderately good.

4. Be the best S05 class!

Tells you that even if you can’t be the best and are probably relegated to the lower echelons of society, nothing is worse than poverty than the POVERTY OF ASPIRATION (aiyo GP) Hence, some good amount of hard work and goals would definitely make for a more respectable life regardless of circumstance..

alright very nice.. now for the next week ):
